HISTORY: Lee’s International Inc. was founded by its president and founder George Lee Sealy in April 1985. The company was registered in London, UK where George Lee resided for ten years. He served in the British Armed Forces (RAF) as a medical technician in the Medical division. After being discharged from the Royal Air Force George Lee worked as a medical technician at the famous private clinic in the west end of London called” The Harley Street Clinic”, where he spend two years working with the Arab population from the Middle East. George Lee wanted to broaden his horizons; he decided to immigrate to the USA in 1981 to try “new pastures” there. He settled in the Washington DC area and spent his early years in the medical field working at Georgetown Hospital Private Duty Department. He took discharged patients to their homes, attending to their medical needs until these patients were strong enough to take care of themselves.
In 1985 George Lee Left the medical scene and embarked on a business venture in the marketing field. He tried the music industry importing Caribbean music from the United Kingdom, as well as delivering Caribbean food products to Caribbean businesses in the Washington DC area as far field in Gettysburg PA. George Lee wanted a greater challenge in the business field and so in April 1985 he embarked in the mail order business of which emerged the Freight/ Cargo handling company named Lee’s Enterprise which is now renamed as Lee’s International Shipping. This company has grown over the past 22 years from handling the shipping boxes & barrels to the islands of the Caribbean. Currently the company handles the movement of containers 20 & 40 foot boxes, vehicles and all types of cargo too numerous to mention. The company has recently embarked on a daily airfreight service providing the movement of small packages to worldwide locations. The company has a weekly movement of FCL and LCL ocean freight cargo to worldwide destinations. The company has services the Caribbean community from inception and will continue to provide the same service to Caribbean nationals relocating the individual islands for retirement, as well as a means of providing supplies of foodstuffs, clothing and general household items to families in the Caribbean Basin. We will also endeavor to provide the same service to countries in other overseas destinations. Whether the cargo contents are commercial, personal, charities or otherwise, we will endeavor to provide excellent and reliable service to all our customers.
